M Movement Methods is a house for the movement musings of Miryam G. Johnson. Johnson is an award-winning Dance Educator and Choreographer interested in the cross section of improvisatory, polyrhythmic and somatic movement techniques, she explores dance as early human technology.
If the body holds memory then movement is the code by which we recall our histories, connect to our internal systems and embed tools of liberation.

MINDFUL MOVEMENT SCORES
Movement scores are a series of prompts used for improvisational practices and can be performed alone or with a group. The below offerings are for those of us who’ve been struggling to find movement in our bones. I crafted this score for the days I’m stuck in my head and need a gentle reminder of how to come back to my body. Feel free to move through any or all of the portions that resonate with you.

BREATHE WORK SCORE
Use colors to represent what your want to inhale and what your need to exhale
Inhale in all that you need, visualize filling your body with your positive color
Exhale all that no longer serves you, visualize releasing all of the negative color from your body
Continue inhaling and exhaling until you are filled with your joyous color
*These colors can be ones that having been jumping out to you that day or just colors you felt were relevant
*If needed, add expansive movement to the inhale as your visualize the color
*Colors may shift throughout
