Miryam Johnson: Finding Joy
Music: Agape composed by Nicholas Britell, Keep your Hand on the Plow by Unknown Composer
Text: Unknown Lecture by Mooji
Performers: Kemia Wright (Vocalist), Miryam Johnson (Dancer)

Finding JOY, is a expression of the complexities in healing. This work investigates what it means to be vulnerable, pursue peace, access ancestral wisdom and conjure joy. What movement sustains us and how do we heal beyond ourselves? A committed educator, artist and community member, Miryam believes in using her body and her art as protest.

Conner Darling: New Prayers for Earth

"New Prayers for the Earth" is to hope, to remember that we belong, that we have nowhere else to go. It is a grainy song for the future. A hope that is flexible. It is for the plants, and for the roads. The current version of this performance is a collage of images/songs/bits of essay, and segments of transitions. Conner is excited to share what has been assembled here, and hopes to learn a little about where it may continue to go. Conner Darling is a performance artist currently focusing on responding to issues of the Anthropocene He is also a farm hand and lover of odd jobs.

The Hinterlands: The Nightwatchman (excerpt)

A new performance slated for preview in spring 2020 inspired by Antwerp, the first novel by Chilean writer Roberto Bolaño. An exploration of exile, detectives, fascism and the avant garde, dread, untethered ghosts of the Americas, machismo, forgotten heroes, literary fanboys, and the end of youth. THE HINTERLANDS is a Detroit-based company creating performances and public events that are highly irrational and deeply American
